Oil on canvas
120 cm high x 150 cm wide
Amphora Dreams l, ll, and lll is a triptych - the images are connected by the walls of a Persian garden, and connected in theme by three trees.
The figures have stepped out of a frieze around a Grecian urn and inhabit the unfamiliar grounds of this expanded Persian miniature paradise.

War horse and a dog of war unleashed - seeing Athens crumble in the 21st century provoked this image.
Pandemonium ©
Oil and oil pastel on fine paper
61 cm high x 91 cm wide
A Greco-Roman Bacchanalia, or a scene in Pandemonium – the city of darkness in John Milton’s epic poem 'Paradise Lost'.
The image is a chaotic parade of circus acts and acts of war.

Sgraffito figures perhaps from the layers of history. A vulnerable urn and yet another a civilisation are about to be brutalised.
Allowing the background to dominate is an important part of this image.
